ESCP Europe/CMAP mediator certification

Objectives

The objective of this certification is to validate mediators’ qualifications against clearly defined objective criteria. It combines the knowledge of a recognized business school with that of the premier mediation center in France. The certification is an exam.

The program

It lasts for two days. On the first day, participants improve their skills during filmed and commented role-playing sessions. On the second day, they take a theory examination and a practical examination. This latter test is in the form of a simulated mediation, which is watched by the certification jury.

The jury

It consists of mediators who have been certified and accredited by CMAP, and is chaired by an academic from ESCP Europe.

Conditions for registration

To register for the certification examination, proof of training in the method and techniques of mediation is required.

Opportunities

Firstly, the ESCP Europe / CMAP certificate is a route to the Executive Manager Degree Programme Level 1, registered at the French RNCP

Secondly, the ESCP Europe / CMAP certificate is one of the preconditions for accreditation by CMAP’s mediation committee. This accreditation is given twice yearly by the mediation committee. This is the only body authorized to give CMAP accreditation.

Anyone who meets the following criteria may be considered for accreditation:

  • be a holder of the ESCP Europe / CMAP certificate
    be able to show proof of at least 10 years professional experience
    be no older than 70 years of age
